Major depression, chronic pain/fibromyalgia, and now the danger of passing out if I stand too quickly... I suppose I could shake my fist at the heavens and yell at the gods for giving me so many misfortunes but are they really misfortunes?

Because of these things, I am empathetic, patient, and caring. "A nice person."

They certainly have helped me to focus on storytelling and art which in turn help other individuals escape from their own pain and worries for a time. Furthermore, all of these these misfortunes are forcing me to have a slower paced life, a pretty good blessing in this age where everyone is rushing around and stressing out.

The pain, and how I have reacted to it, have made me a better person. So are they really misfortunes or are they teachers and blessings in disguise?

I guess it all depends if I fight against them or I accept them and let life's alchemy do its magic. :)

I've heard it said that Theodore Roosevelt once said "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." Now i don't know if it's true or not, but those are pretty good words to live by.

Of course, i doubt he was in the bathtub when he said that.
